One of the steepest learning curves I ever had as a coach was assuming that the coaching I offered an entrepreneur was the same formula I could use coaching her team when she expanded. It wasn’t. I learnt my lesson and changed the way I coach teams.
Now, before coaching begins, I need to know the depth and type of coaching that will best for you, your team, and your company’s culture. The best way to do that is to attend one of your company’s quarterly board meetings. Why? A few reasons actually.

Stress and inter-rational issues, as well as the spoken truth vs the hidden truths about the underlying financial and relational situations within the company, can best be seen. At these meetings, board members have to report, answers questions, make decisions that will carry the company through the next quarter, and appease the shareholders and staff, not to mention the bank manager. - take your staff and your shareholders with you
Many company owners and management teams are so focused on the bottom line that they may have slipped into styles of management that are actually damaging both the company and the path to success.

By the time you get to a board meeting, you and your team have already been at more monthly, weekly, daily meetings than they can handle. As a result, board meetings can often be emotional, and divisive. How each board member responds will reveal the true company culture.
